Saftey EyewearSafety eyewear must conform to a higher standard of impact resistance than dress eyewear. The higher standard applies to both frames and lenses. Our lab does all necessary ANSI safety standard tests to ensure the quality you expect. This includes a high velocity test by shooting a quarter-inch diameter steel ball at the speed of 150 feet per second. To pass, the lens must not crack, chip or break. ANSI Standards: 287.1- Frames, 280.1- Prescription lenses. |
Transitions/DrivewearTransitions are designed to enhance vision while protecting the eyes from UV light. They can be worn indoors and automatically adapt when exposed to natural light by turning darker. Drivewear lenses are capable of sensing and reacting to varying light conditions both outside and behind the windshield of your car. From bright sunlight and glare from snow to overcast conditions, drivewear lenses will provide the appropriate solution. Drivewear lenses are polarized to provide exceptional glare protection through photochromatics that respond to both visual light and ultraviolet light. |
Anti-Reflective CoatingsAn Anti-Reflective (AR) coating, also known as anti-glare coating, is a thin multilayer finish applied to the surface of eyeglass lenses. This coating is designed to reduce the amount of surface glare that reflects off the lenses, thereby enhancing the efficiency of the glasses. AR coatings play a pivotal role in improving visual clarity and comfort, especially in situations where the wearer is subjected to bright lights, such as while using digital screens or driving at night. |
